Professional Mentoring

One of the most valuable resources the BYU Rollins Center has to offer is the networking and help available to students through professional mentors.

Mentoring Preparation:

  1. Be ready with specific questions or concerns you have researched ahead of time but still aren’t sure on or have hit a roadblock on
  2. Be ready to explain your idea in concise and easy to understand way to minimize time your mentor needs to take to understand what you are working on

Mentoring Etiquette:

  1. Be willing to listen to the mentor’s suggestions
  2. If you have met or have been meeting with a mentor but decided they are not a good fit, contact them and let them know in a respectable manner
  3. Never solicit investment in your idea/company

Due to COVID-19 all mentoring sessions will be over the phone. The person you are scheduled with will contact you at the time of your appointment.
